About Me

I hail from the southern most country on the continent of Africa. You guessed it! South Africa! Creative, right?

I have a degree in Mathematics and Statistics, but quite frankly that's the least interesting thing about me.

I have a blog I haven't updated in a while.

I have a podcast, too. It kind of sucks, but it'll get better.

I'm still trying to figure out who I am and what I want.

By the way. Do you see that photo right below? That guy right under this wall of text? This isn't a photo of me. I just typed “handsome black man” on Unsplash and this was the first result.

I have no idea who this man is...

I don't know. I thought it would be funny. Anyway. Moving on...

I'm interested in building startups. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll die a billionaire. But until then, I'll keep sending texts like these:

Remember That You Will Die
FeaturedSeriously, You should read this.
Romans 8:28

Romans 8:28

Christian

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. And we know that all things work together for the good
This verse has been a comfort of mine as of late. It is a subtle reminder that God is sovereign, kind, loving, and good. The verse tells us that for those who love God and are called according to His purpose, everything will be alright.

Philosophical Musings

About a year ago I wrote the first issue of The Narrative newsletter. I wrote about birthdays, and mine in particular. I spoke about how beautiful it is to be reminded that I am loved, how awkward it can be to receive attention, how stupid it is that we don't love each other out loud on any other day, and how necessary it is to let people love you. I also spoke about a song by Billy Joel called Vienna. I promised to talk about it again at a later stage and here the later stage has come. This won't be the last I speak of this wonderful song but I want us to start here.

The Immortal

The Immortal

Short Story

“Okay. I think we’re all set. Jimmy? Are you recording?”“Yes, Professor Vogel!”“Are you sure? Because you said that last time and you weren’t recording.”“Yes, Professor, I’m sure this time. I’m really really sorry for earlier.”“You owe me no apology. It’s our friend over here that deserves your sorry.”Professor Vogel takes a deep sigh, probably thinking about how he’s too old to b
